” Their affair began on a Spring day in 1985 when they checked into a Holiday Inn. She left her husband a few weeks later. Despite Browne¹s pleas, Nixon refused to leave his wife. For three years, they met regularly, often at her house during the day. At night, he¹d go home to Pasadena. Then, one morning, Browne was found beaten and choked to death on her bathroom floor. She was 36.”
